The piece was created for a charity auction organised by the Prior Weston PTA in support of the Prior Weston School in London. This was the catalogue.Charity Box has been described as being reminiscent of those used in the Embankment installation she created in 2005/6; but this is a stretch; those 14,000 transluscent, white polyethylene boxes were stacked in various ways; a very large installation in the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern.Charity Box was cast in plaster, and has only the method of manufacture in common.

The round Imperialware ceramic body showcases the Star of David framed by an intricate, nature-inspired pattern of swirls, flourishes, and scallops in the classic blue and white palette. On the coordinating lid, another star with a similar leafy decoration creates an eye-catching finish by emphasizing more blue tones than white. The money slit in the lid's center is large enough to accept coins or folded bills. Measuring 4-3/4 inches high, this little box fits on a bedside table, kitchen shelf, or entry table.
