This 19 C antique French jewellery box has a beautiful hand painted portrait featuring a Victorian lady and gentleman on the lid. The lid is in a dome style. It measure about 7 7/8" at the widest, 4 3/4" deep and 3 1/2" tall to the top of the dome. The box is in rich cobalt color decorated with raised gold. It has a signature " A Siberl " on the hand painted cover. Inside the box also has lovely hand painted floral. Sevres mark and France on the underside. It is in great condition, no chips, cracks or hairlines. The hand paint is bright, the gold is good. Only very miner slight gold wear near the signature. I mention it just for accuracy, it does not take away any beauty of this jewel box. The white spots just camera flesh from lighting.

This is a rare find. We have a Victorian casket style jewellry box with a Art Nouveau lady holing a mirror as the lid of the jewelery box. Two candle holder on the side. The box is quite large, measure about 14 1/4" from one candle holder to the other, 5 1/2" from front to back. 7" tall to the top of the lady. The box is a gilded in gold color metal. As most of these casket style boxes, I think they made from pot metal or copper. The bottom marked " copy right WB ". Inside has a sea green silk like fabric lining in very good condition, which may have been replaced. This from early 1900's. Over all this is in great condition, no hole on the metal, hinge works fine. It is heavy, it weight 8 lbs . This is unique and rare, is good one to add to your jewel box collection.
